This is a fantastic opportunity for someone that thrives on working collaboratively, has a positive outlook and is passionate about working with and supporting pupils with SEND. We are an inclusive school, situated very close to Ipswich, that is very friendly with committed and supportive staff who want all of our pupils to be the best they can be in all that they do.
The role may be linked to a specific pupil for which the school receives funding, as such the contract will cease if the pupil leaves the school or if the funding is withdrawn. Likewise, if the pupil remains in school and/or the funding remains in place then the contract will be extended.
The successful applicant will ideally have previous experience working with children with a variety of SEND challenges. The role would allow the right candidate to build on their existing knowledge and skills whilst being able to flourish in a progressive and caring school. This would include having access to additional CPD opportunities.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is motivated and dedicated to supporting pupils with SEND
- Is able to support pupils on a 1:1, or small group basis (potentially including personal care if needed)
- Energetic, with bags of enthusiasm; someone flexible who has a nurturing attitude and is solution focussed.
- Able to consistently demonstrate the confidence and ability to manage children in a positive and friendly manner
- Able to demonstrate sound maths and literacy skills (GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths is essential), alongside other relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 3)
- Experienced with regards to working with children in a learning environment, and supporting pupils with SEND
- Able to use initiative, work as part of a team and have a good sense of humour
- An excellent communicator, creative and passionate about helping children be the best they can be.
In return we can offer:
- A committed, supportive, hard-working team
- A friendly, proud school community, with enthusiastic, happy children.
- An ongoing commitment to learning for all
- Personalised professional development opportunities which will serve to support future goals and dreams.
