Welcome
It is a real pleasure to welcome you to Claydon Primary School. As Headteacher, I am proud to lead a school where children are at the heart of everything we do. Although we are a much larger than average primary school, we have never lost the village-school feel that makes Claydon so special. We combine the opportunities and experiences of a large school with the warmth and togetherness of a close-knit community, where families build lasting relationships, children are recognised as individuals and parents feel they can approach us and be listened to.
At Claydon, our ambition is simple: for every child to “be the best you can be.” We want our pupils to feel happy, safe and supported, developing the confidence, curiosity and independence they need to thrive both in school and beyond.
Our five core values — Character, Collaboration, Community, Culture and Curriculum — underpin all that we do. We encourage children to be kind, respectful and resilient, to work together and to remain curious about the world around them. These values shape our relationships, our learning and the positive contribution we hope every child will make to society.
We have high aspirations for all our pupils and believe every child deserves an excellent education, whatever their starting point, background or individual needs. Inclusion, equality and respect are central to our approach. We recognise that every child is different, and we are committed to ensuring that all pupils feel valued, have a voice and receive the support and opportunities they need to flourish. We encourage children to appreciate diversity, respect different perspectives and understand their role in contributing positively to a fair and inclusive society.
We believe the strongest school communities are built through partnership. Our families, staff, governors and wider community all play an important part in life at Claydon. By working together, sharing in children’s successes and supporting them through challenges, we create an environment in which children feel a strong sense of belonging and are encouraged to flourish.
Our aim is for children to leave Claydon as happy, confident and independent learners, equipped with the knowledge, skills and values to embrace future opportunities and develop a lifelong love of learning.
Thank you for visiting our website. I hope you enjoy discovering more about our school and the community we are so proud to be part of. We look forward to welcoming you to Claydon.
